Overview
This Benge 190F Large Bore Tenor Trombone features an 8.5″ gold brass bell, open-wrap F-attachment, and yellow brass handslide. The instrument received full shop service at The Brass Exchange including chemical cleaning, slide optimization, and valve inspection before sale.
It presented in clean structural condition with no evidence of major damage or repair. The handslide operated smoothly and the valve section functioned quietly and reliably. The instrument included its case in very good condition.
Benge trombones from this era were built during a strong period of American brass manufacturing. Following the King acquisition, many Benge trombones share construction details with contemporary King instruments, contributing to their durability and consistent mechanical design.
Player Perspective
Bach, Conn, Yamaha, King, and Benge instruments each have recognizable design concepts and playing characteristics. Because of shared lineage with King Musical Instruments, many Benge 190F trombones have familiar American large-bore ergonomics and dependable response.
This model works well as a first open-wrap large-bore tenor for advancing students or as a reliable ensemble instrument for experienced players in symphonic band, orchestra, or community ensembles.
