Overview
This King 3B Legend Series Tenor Trombone represents a modern interpretation of the classic King 3B design, featuring vintage-style bell engraving, an 8″ yellow brass bell, and traditional small-bore King ergonomics. The instrument retained original parts and included its factory King case.
The trombone presented in excellent structural condition and had been well maintained by its previous owner. The handslide operated smoothly and required no additional service to play at a high level. A small area of lacquer wear near the bell rim was noted, consistent with normal use.
Legend Series instruments were introduced with styling cues inspired by classic King models from the mid-20th century, combining familiar appearance with modern manufacturing consistency.
Player Perspective
The King 3B remains one of the most widely used small-bore tenor trombones for jazz ensemble and commercial playing. Many large-bore tenor players keep a 3B-style instrument for jazz band or lighter ensemble work because of its comfortable proportions and familiar response.
