Yamaha YSL-456G Tenor Trombone.  This is a model that is usually only available in Japan.  The U.S. market equivalent is model YSL-446G which sells new today for over $2300.  Has 8" Gold brass bell, standard wrap/rotor, with dual bore .500/.525 handslide.  Takes standard small shank mouthpiece, same as a starter trombone, but honestly, if moving up in size to a trigger trombone, this would be a good time to advance to a slightly large mouthpiece for a fuller and more robust sound.  We always like to recommend the largest mouthpiece that a player feels comfortable on for the type of playing that they do without compromising upper and middle registers.  When advancing to a larger mouthpiece, there is always an adjustment period.  But, young players are resilient, and adapt quickly, we were all at a similar stage at one point.

This 456G has not had any damage or repairs, single owner well cared for.    Some lacquer wear around neck receiver, threaded washer area, and handlside grip, otherwise in perfect condition.  Includes case and mouthpiece We did full shop service here, including chemical bath and complete once over. There was a ding on one of the lower slide outer tubes, which we removed.  A small ding on the inner slide tube remains.  We do not take these small inner tube dings out as it will break the plating.  The good news is that it does not create drag or tension.  You can easily tell when testing each slide tube individually.  Is ready to play upon delivery, no additional service required.  Would make an excellent first trigger horn for an advancing middle or high school student, not ready to take on the much larger .547 bore model.  Ideal size for all around play, band, jazz band.
