Kanstul Flugelbone Model 955, Made in California. Single owner horn in perfect condition. No dents or dings, no service required to improve playability. Valve compression is excellent, this horn has not been played on much. Has .500 bore, 8.5" Bell, Monel Pistons, larger size valve caps. Of all the valve trombones, bass trumpets, and flugelbones that we have had here over the years, this one is definitely the most comfortable to play. The valves feel effortless, and the sound is gorgeous. True that this model was originally introduced for marching brass, but we have found that Jazz players, commercial guys, and doublers love this type of instrument. Has original case and mouthpiece, also in perfect condition. Prior to the closing of Kanstul, the suggested retail for this model was $3090. Not many of these available today since Kanstul closed around 2019. Most of the marching brass today is made in the far east, and lack build quality, plus lower grade alloy. You will love this beautiful American made instrument.
