CONN

Conn 8H Vintage Elkhart Era Trombone, Made in 1957 SN 674908.  This is the model that the 88H followed.  Has 8.5" rose brass bell, unsoldered rim, light gauge alloy.  Standard weight "Conn width" handlslide, .547 Bore.  Yellow Brass Tuning slide with nickel silver crook guard.  Handslide outer tubes are also gold brass.  Super straight slide, tubes align perfectly.  No plating defects on inner tubes.  Has had full shop servcie including chemical bath.  Has not had major damage, 3 or 4 dents removed from the bell stem adjacent to the bell brace on the outer stem.  Laquer did no crack upon repair.  Looks and plays proper.  Old Conn Players remember this model- no slide lock and has springs in first position.  Mouthpipe is large shank.  Works best with Remington taper but some guys use traditionanl Morse taper too.  We prefer the Remington on this model.  You can still find plenty of Remington Taper mouthpiecs- including Bach 5G, 4G, 6 1/2.  Has original case in excellent condition.  We went ahead and added a few handcrated wooden bell case stops.  Conn makes a replica of this model today whith suggested MAP pricing in the $2900 range.  But, it is not nearly the same as the real thing, such as this one.
