Overview

This Vincent Bach 36LT straight tenor trombone, serial number 114603, was made in the early 1990s and features a lightweight nickel-silver handslide paired with an 8" yellow brass bell finished in custom satin lacquer. The slide retains its original lacquer over nickel silver with a .525 bore and accepts a standard small-shank mouthpiece.

The Bach 36LT is one of the most respected medium-bore straight tenor designs in the Bach lineup, offering quick response, centered tone, and flexibility across styles. This example is in excellent playing condition with no major flaws or structural issues and has been prepared and tested here in our shop.

Players looking for a professional-level medium-bore trombone without an F-attachment will find the 36LT to be a strong choice. It works well in jazz and commercial settings, chamber ensembles, and lighter orchestral repertoire where a full .547 bore is not required. Many players also like the 36LT as a classic “Bolero-style” straight tenor.

We have handled dozens of straight Bach 36 trombones over the years, and this is a very good example that plays easily and evenly throughout the range.
