This Bach 7 small shank trombone mouthpiece features a gold plated threaded removable rim and comes from an estate collection. It is in excellent condition and shows very little evidence of use. The mouthpiece has been professionally cleaned and polished, with the rim, cup, threads, and shank all in excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape.

What makes this example especially interesting is the rim size and feel. While based on a Bach 7 cup, the removable rim is sized closer to a 5G, offering a noticeably broader and more comfortable rim surface than a standard 7 or 7C. This makes it an excellent option for players who prefer the comfort and stability of a larger rim but still want the efficiency and response of a smaller cup and small shank setup.

The result is a mouthpiece that bridges two worlds: it retains the compact playing characteristics associated with smaller Bach mouthpieces, while providing a rim feel that many players coming from larger setups find more familiar and forgiving. It’s a smart choice for players who want flexibility without committing to a full large-diameter mouthpiece.
