Original S.E. Shires Custom Series bass trombone leadpipe, Model 2L in brass. Designed for .562 bore Shires bass slides, this factory long (“L”) version fits both Custom and Q Series models properly.
The leadpipe has received a full chemical bath and internal cleaning here at The Brass Exchange. It’s in excellent condition with no damage or distortion, and threads seat smoothly.
The “L” designation indicates a longer overall length, not a different taper — it simply provides a slightly different feel and centering that many advanced players prefer. Any leadpipe can be shortened or adjusted to preference by a qualified technician if desired.
