Overview
This original S.E. Shires Custom Series bass trombone leadpipe, Model B1 in standard brass, has now been sold and is preserved here as part of The Brass Exchange historical reference archive. Designed for .562-bore Shires bass trombone slides, this factory leadpipe fits both Custom and Q Series models with proper taper and threading.
Before sale, the leadpipe went through full shop service at The Brass Exchange, including chemical bath cleaning and internal inspection. It was in excellent used condition with only light cosmetic wear on the cap and body, and no dents, cracks, or thread issues.
These original Shires leadpipes are often sought by players refining response, resistance, and articulation in modular Shires bass setups. Model B1 pipes provide a balanced feel with centered tone and clean slotting across the range.
