King 3B Plus Silversonic Model 2103PL, sterling silver bell, in super mint condition, slide serial number B 5527. This horn was most likely made in the 1990s — dating modern King trombones by serial number is difficult, but regardless of the exact year, this example is in outstanding condition and will not disappoint.
It features a .525 bore handslide, giving it more openness and power compared to a standard 3B, while still maintaining the compact look and agility that players love. The 8" solid sterling silver bell looks like a traditional small-bore jazz trombone but delivers an enormous sound with tremendous energy when pushed. Jazz players particularly value how the sterling silver bell "lights up" under high air volume, offering brilliant projection and a lively, colorful tone that cuts through any ensemble.
We performed full shop service, including chemical bath, slide setup and alignment, water key service, and a complete once-over to ensure it is in top playing condition. There are no dents or dings, and cosmetically, it is outstanding — truly super mint. The slide is true, tension-free, and moves effortlessly, ready to perform at the highest level.
The .525 bore slide gives players just a bit more presence and fullness compared to the classic .508 bore 3B, making it an ideal choice for jazz and commercial players who want to push more air and shape a bigger sound while retaining great flexibility and control.
As far as we know, King no longer produces this model in sterling silver. If they did, and priced it similarly to today's 3B Legend Sterling Silver models, it would retail for well over $4,700. Many players strongly prefer these earlier models for their authentic tonal character and exceptional craftsmanship.

This combination makes it ideal for jazz musicians seeking extra energy and tonal flexibility.
