KING

This King 3B Silversonic Trombone, serial #433535, was produced between 1965 and 1970 during the early Eastlake, OH manufacturing period. A standout jazz classic, this model features a solid sterling silver bell with a gold-plated inner flare. The bell was stripped and hand-polished in-house to remove worn lacquer and reveal its rich natural patina. The neckpipe was relacquered, the tuning slide retains original lacquer, and the handslide remains in original condition.

The instrument received complete professional service, including chemical cleaning, full mechanical inspection, play testing, and handslide setup. There were no dents or structural concerns at the time of sale. The slide was smooth and responsive, with only minor cosmetic wear to the outer lacquer.

The 3B Silversonic is revered for its warmth, clarity, and tonal presenceโ€”particularly in jazz and commercial settings. Sterling silver bells like this absorb energy and return a beautifully resonant tone with enhanced projection. Many players liken the sound to the signature warmth of J.J. Johnson, making it a top choice for lead, section, and solo playing alike.

Ideal for use in big band, combo, or studio environments, this horn offered a professional-level playing experience for advanced musicians and collectors alike. It came with the original coffin-style King case in solid condition.
