This is a pre-owned Shires TY tuning slide designed for large bore tenor trombones in the Custom Series line, hand-built in Boston. The TY model features a standard taper with drawn tubing, offering a familiar, broad blow and excellent tonal balance across registers.
This tuning slide is only a few years old and remains in pristine condition. The lacquer is flawless, with no dents, dings, or evidence of repair. It was not chemically cleaned here in the shop — simply because it didn’t need it. It's fully ready to play as-is and will serve well for many years before routine servicing is needed.
Fitment is intended for all S.E. Shires Custom Series tenor trombones with a .547" bore. If you’re unsure about compatibility, we’re happy to assist — and we offer return or adjustment options if fitting is needed.
