Olds P-22 George Roberts Bass Trombone SN A217151 Made in the 1970s, this Olds P-22 George Roberts Bass Trombone is a rare and valuable instrument, named after the legendary George Roberts. Widely regarded as the most successful bass trombonist in the commercial genre of his time, Roberts contributed to thousands of studio recordings, albums, and movie soundtracks. If you’ve ever heard stunning trombone work in movies from the 1950s and 60s, it was most likely George Roberts at the helm.

Roberts was a steadfast believer in the single-valve bass trombone. In a late interview, he was asked why he never switched to a double-valve model, to which he responded that he always found success with a single valve and saw no reason to change. For those searching for a high-quality used bass trombone with one valve, this P-22 is an excellent choice.
