Shires TB47 Trombone Slide, Excellent Condition, Used
This Shires TB47 trombone slide is a fantastic example of S.E. Shires' high-quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design. The TB47 slide is built with standard weight and standard length yellow brass outer tubes and a nickel end crook. The key difference between the TB47 and the more common TW47 slide is the larger, bass-sized end crook on the TB47.
This feature allows the TB47 to play even larger and broader than a standard Shires slide, making it especially well-suited for orchestral and large ensemble playing. This slide is in excellent condition with no defects, super straight tubes, and perfect alignment β truly the real deal.
While there is some lacquer wear on the contact areas, it is minimal and completely normal for a well-maintained slide of approximately 10 years of age. The slide includes one lead pipe.
A new Shires TB47 slide from the factory is priced at $1,440 as of 2024, making this example a great reference for players interested in exploring pre-owned options.
