CONN

Conn 8H Trombone, Elkhart, Indiana Make, Serial Number H65087. Manufactured in 1966, this is a classic vintage 8H with all original parts and lacquer, in remarkable condition. It was closet-kept for nearly 50 years, and shows minimal lacquer wear and no evidence of major damage or repairs.

We completed full shop service, including a chemical bath and precision slide setup. The slide is fantasticβ€”super straight, well-aligned, and plating is flawless. This model features the iconic 8.5" rose brass bell with unsoldered rim, and a .547 bore handslide, making it functionally identical to the Conn 88H, minus the F-attachment.

The horn plays with that signature warm, broad Conn tone. Ideal for orchestral, symphonic band, or solo use, it’s a favorite among Conn loyalists. It comes with the original Conn mouthpiece and a vintage case in excellent condition.

Q: What’s the difference between a Conn 8H and 88H trombone?
A: The Conn 8H and 88H are nearly identical in bell and bore specs. The 88H includes an F-attachment for extended low range, while the 8H is a straight large bore tenor trombone, offering freer airflow and lighter weight.

This 1966 Conn 8H has been sold and is now shown here as a historical reference for Conn enthusiasts and vintage trombone collectors.
