Conn 48H Super Mint Early 70's (Sold)

This Conn 48H Connstellation Trombone was made in the early 1970s, serial number HK170034. It features all original parts, including lacquer, case, and mouthpiece. The trombone has been barely played, making it a rare find in such excellent condition. The original lacquer is still intact, giving the instrument a polished look and ensuring its long-lasting value.

The 8" nickel bell and .500 bore gold brass slide are in fantastic shape. The slide, in particular, is exceptional—arguably one of the best you’ll find, and far superior to many newer models straight from the factory. It’s smooth, responsive, and easy to handle, offering a playing experience that is truly unique. The 48H has similar specs to the 6H, but it delivers a slightly darker sound, making it an ideal choice for players seeking warmth and depth in their tone. The unique combination of a nickel bell and gold brass slide makes this trombone a standout in terms of tone, providing rich overtones and a smooth response.

This model is excellent for jazz/commercial style music. The 48H excels at all dynamic levels and can easily handle being pushed, making it a versatile choice for a variety of performance settings. It’s ideal for players who need an instrument that can cut through an ensemble, yet still deliver a warm, rich tone for solos. Whether you’re performing in a big band, a small jazz combo, or a commercial setting, the Conn 48H delivers both power and control.

The Conn 48H is one of those rare finds that combines classic design with a superior playing experience. If you're looking for an instrument with a fantastic slide and great tonal qualities, this Conn 48H is a top-tier option.
