This S.E. Shires TBQ30GR is a large bore tenor trombone from the Q Series, offered here as a demo model in perfect condition. Designed for advancing and professional players, it combines Shires’ Boston-inspired craftsmanship with a more affordable production model.
The TBQ30GR features an 8.5" gold brass bell that provides warmth, depth, and excellent projection, paired with a standard rotor valve for smooth response in F. The instrument also includes a QTW47 wide handslide (.547 bore) with three removable leadpipes, giving players the flexibility to adjust feel and resistance. A mouthpiece was included at the time of sale, making this a complete outfit ready for performance.
Although technically a demo model, the instrument showed virtually no signs of use and played like new. It was discounted only because it was no longer considered “fresh stock.” For players, it represented an outstanding opportunity to own a high-quality Shires trombone at reduced cost.
