Bach

This early 1970s Bach 42B tenor trombone, serial number 15349, is one of the most sought-after models by orchestral players and serious collectors. Made during the revered Corporation Bell era, it features an 8.5" yellow brass bell and a standard-weight handslide β€” a combination known for producing the rich, resonant Bach sound that defined generations of symphonic brass sections.

The bell section and original F-attachment are in preserved condition with original lacquer. The valve section was professionally rebuilt for optimal response, and the handslide was fully overhauled with new outer tubes and a factory-style lacquer finish. The original inner tubes and leadpipe remain intact. Overall, this instrument is structurally excellent and offers the classic gritty tonal character associated with the best vintage Bach horns of the era.

Includes a French-style case that is functional but shows signs of wear β€” a fitting match for a well-traveled and well-loved professional instrument.

βœ… What makes the Corporation-era Bach 42B so valuable to orchestral trombonists?
The Corporation-era Bach 42B is widely regarded as one of the finest production trombones ever made. It offers unmatched resonance, tonal complexity, and projection β€” especially in orchestral settings. Many top symphonic players seek out these early models for their craftsmanship and legacy sound.
