Bach

This Bach 16MLT handslide, dating from the 1980s, represents one of the classic straight bore slides in the Bach small-bore lineup. The “MLT” designation indicates a lightweight straight bore design, prized by jazz and commercial players for its agility and vibrant response.

This example was given a full professional setup and re-alignment in our shop, and it now includes a removable leadpipe—a modern upgrade that provides greater flexibility for customizing resistance and feel. The slide action was exceptionally smooth, making it easy to emulate expressive jazz techniques such as slide vibrato in the style of Bill Watrous and other masters.

The lacquer remained all original and in excellent condition, with no structural issues. While designed to pair with the Bach 16M bell, this slide is also fully compatible with a standard Bach 16 bell, making it a versatile choice for players seeking a replacement, backup, or upgrade to their existing setup.

This Bach 16MLT handslide is now part of our Archive of Sold Instruments, preserved here as a reference for musicians and collectors researching vintage Bach small-bore components.
