The Conn 62H is one of the most respected vintage bass trombone models made in the United States, with a design that has remained relevant across generations of professional players. The addition of Greenhoe mounting hardware makes this version even more desirable—improving transport convenience while maintaining acoustic consistency. Greenhoe's precision hardware is favored by professionals for its stability and resonance.

Gary Greenhoe was a renowned American instrument maker based in Wisconsin. He was best known for designing the Greenhoe Valve system, a modern reinterpretation of the traditional rotary valve for both tenor and bass trombones. His open-wrap valve designs significantly improved airflow and response while maintaining the classic feel that professional trombonists expect.

Throughout his career, Greenhoe specialized in crafting hybrid trombones, often using OEM parts from major manufacturers such as Conn and Bach—including bell flares from the 62H and 50B models, custom crooks, and slide tubes. When combined with his meticulous assembly and finishing process, the result was some of the finest playing trombones ever made.

Upon Gary Greenhoe's retirement, his company was acquired by Schilke Music Products in Chicago, where the Greenhoe brand continues to produce high-end professional trombones using his original designs and legacy.
