This is an original Bach 42B handslide from the Corporation Era, built around 1975–1976, shortly after the Bach factory moved from Mt. Vernon, NY to Elkhart, IN. During this transitional period, Bach stamped “Corporation” on the bell sections of their trombones — and this slide dates from that same historically significant production window.
The slide features all original parts and lacquer, with about 70% lacquer remaining and only minimal cosmetic wear consistent with its age. The original leadpipe is included and remains removable, giving players the flexibility to install modern aftermarket leadpipes if desired.
The inner slide tubes are completely free of plating wear, and the slide action is smooth, fast, and aligned — ready for performance use without any further work.
This slide is fully compatible with all modern Bach 42 and 42B bell sections, making it an ideal replacement for a damaged or worn slide or simply a reliable backup slide to have on hand. The Corporation-era craftsmanship offers a level of build quality and responsiveness that many players still prefer over current production models.

🤔 What makes Corporation-era Bach slides special?
Slides built during the Corporation Era are widely considered to be among the best-balanced and most responsive 42-series slides Bach ever produced. Many players find they have slightly lighter construction, excellent alignment, and a smoother feel than later models. Their durability and precise craftsmanship have kept them in professional use for decades.
