King 2B Liberty Trombone – Vintage H.N. White Era, Restored (Sold)

This is a beautifully restored H.N. White King 2B Liberty trombone, dating to around 1940, a time when the King 2B had already earned its reputation as one of the most iconic small bore jazz trombones ever made. Built during the classic Cleveland-era H.N. White production period, this instrument retains its original musicality while benefiting from a professional overhaul.

The horn has been fully restored and refinished, including a fresh lacquer job and installation of replacement inner and outer slide tubes using genuine King parts. The original leadpipe remains intact, preserving the distinctive 2B response and sound profile. All other components are original to the instrument, making this a faithful representation of early King craftsmanship.

It plays exceptionally well, with a fast and smooth slide setup—ideal for jazz soloing, lead playing, or big band section work. The .481/.491 dual bore slide and compact bell allow for crisp articulation, brilliant projection, and tonal control at all dynamic levels.

Included with this trombone is a Marco Magi lizard skin–style case, brand new and tailored for professional protection and visual appeal.

King 2B Liberty models from the H.N. White era are sought after for their vintage resonance, fast response, and agile feel. Restored examples like this are becoming harder to find—especially in such well-balanced playing condition.
