This Greenhoe bass trombone valve section features an independent F/Gb/D configuration, offering maximum flexibility for orchestral and solo playing. It is in perfect condition and was previously owned and occasionally played by a former Conn sales manager who retired in 2003. The section has been professionally chem cleaned and serviced for optimal performance.
It is pictured here with a Conn 62H bell section, which at the time of sale was available for an additional $500 and was in mint condition. The valve section alone includes mounting hardware for attaching a bell section.
Please note that this unit was previously optimized for a Benge 290, meaning the slide receiver and the small tube on the tuning slide will require modification to fit other makes such as Bach, Shires, or Edwards. If a Shires conversion is desired, the necessary parts and conversion service are available through qualified technicians.
This valve section has been sold and now appears in our archive as a reference for collectors, musicians, and those researching Greenhoe trombone components. To explore similar professional trombone parts currently available, browse our current trombone selection here🔎
FAQ
What is the advantage of an independent F/Gb/D valve setup?
Independent valves allow for more alternate positions, greater flexibility in low register playing, and additional tuning options compared to dependent valve systems.
Will this Greenhoe valve section fit any bass trombone?
Not without modification. As it was optimized for a Benge 290, the slide receiver and tuning slide tubing must be adjusted for compatibility with other makes such as Bach, Shires, or Edwards.
