Conn 79H Medium Bore Trombone – 1970s Vintage, Serviced and Ready

Offered here is a Conn 79H Medium Bore Tenor Trombone from the 1970s, featuring an 8" yellow brass bell and a .522 bore slide. This model takes a standard small shank tenor mouthpiece, making it compatible with most widely used options.

This horn plays easily with excellent response. The bell section and tuning slide have had dents and dings professionally removed, and the hand slide has been cleaned, aligned, and serviced. All parts are original to the instrument, preserving its authentic character.

The inner and outer slide tubes are original and functional, with some visible wear, but the slide performs well following in-house service. We’ve significantly improved the playing condition while keeping the instrument true to its vintage form.

This is a rare medium bore Conn trombone from the Elkhart production era—highly sought after by collectors and players alike. It offers the unique tonal profile that made Conn famous and is an excellent choice for those who appreciate vintage American craftsmanship.
