Overview
This King 2B Liberty Silver Plated Trombone was manufactured approximately in 1951 and represents one of the most desirable periods of King trombone production. Featuring the classic Liberty engraving, silver plated finish with gold plated trim, and the lively response that made the King 2B famous, this instrument remains an outstanding choice for jazz performers, commercial players, and vintage trombone enthusiasts.
The bell section appears to retain its original components, original silver plating, and original gold plated trim. Most importantly, the bell section has never sustained major damage and remains remarkably well preserved for an instrument now more than seventy years old.
This example is fitted with a later King 2B handslide dating approximately from the late 1970s through early 1980s. While not original to the bell section, the slide is an excellent functional match and contributes significantly to the instrument's outstanding playability.
