Yamaha YSL-354OR Small-Medium Size Intermediate Student Model. This was a model introduced primarily for Europe and Japan. We don't see many of them in the United States, although this is not the first one at The Brass Exchange. Single Owner horn. Well cared for and never damaged. Has 8" Rose Brass Bell, Traditional style F attachment, dual bore handslide .500-.525 for small shank trombone mouthpiece. Original case in perfect condition. I teach a lot of lessons here to students of all ages and one of my observations is that a lot of young players come in immediately and say they want a trigger horn. Why not? Here's the thing- young players struggle to hit 6th and 7th position. Virtually takes low B off the table for these guys. I believe this model to be a notch up from the YSL-354 model, which is one of the most popular student trombones of all time. If you are shopping for a grades school or middle school age student, I would not hesitate to recommend this model as either a first horn- beginner, or as a step up from that first student horn. Has had chemical bath and complete shop once over. The handslide on this one is fantastic. Will not disappoint.
