Yamaha YSL-354 Trombone SN 512023 Pre-owned used for 1-2 years is in excellent shape. This is the top rated Yamaha student trombone made in Japan. There is a lower level YSL-200 model, but those are not made in the same factory in Japan. This is considered the gold standard in student level trombones. Has an 8" bell and .500 bore slide. Is in perfect playing condition, near perfect lacquer, excellent slide. There is one small dent on the upper cork barrel, below where the mouthpiece inserts. But, the ding does not impinge mouthpiece insertion or effect it in anyway. These are difficult to get out and require considerable dis-assembly to repair. It is not worth the effort. If you were to buy a student a brand new one today for over $1500, it would probably look like this after one year. This one is in excellent shape, has a great slide, is super clean, and has an easy to manage old style case. Includes mouthpiece, and slide lubricant. If I had a student starting out today, this would be my top pick.
