YBL-620G

9.5

This Yamaha YBL-620G bass trombone is a lightly used demo model that’s already had the benefit of a full professional setup. In some ways, it’s even better than buying factory-new — it’s been play-tested, adjusted, and fine-tuned so it’s ready to perform perfectly right out of the case.

The horn shows no scratches, dents, or dings and is exceptionally clean throughout. It features a 9.5" gold brass bell for a warm, projecting tone, paired with Yamaha’s dependable dependent rotor system in Bb/F/Gb/D. The second valve includes a “D” extension, allowing the horn to be configured for either Eb or D tuning, adding flexibility for orchestral, symphonic, and commercial work.

Playability is outstanding — the valves are smooth and responsive, and the handslide operates freely with no plating issues. As with all Yamaha bass trombones, the build quality is consistent and reliable, making this model a smart choice for advancing players seeking a professional-level instrument without the premium price of a new custom horn.

Includes the factory Yamaha hard case, in excellent condition, for secure storage and transport. Mouthpiece not included.

Where does the Yamaha YBL-620G fit among other bass trombones?
While the YBL-620G isn’t Yamaha’s top flagship model, it’s far from an entry-level horn. Its combination of pro-level features, durability, and price point make it a go-to option for advancing players who want a quality instrument that can handle everything from jazz ensemble to symphonic repertoire.

How does the “D” extension benefit players?
The second valve’s D extension gives players the choice of Eb or D tuning without switching instruments. This flexibility can be especially useful for challenging low-register passages, allowing for smoother slide positions and better intonation.
