YAMAHA

The Yamaha YBL-613H Bass Trombone was introduced in 1995 and is widely regarded as the predecessor to the current YBL-830 Xeno series. It features independent Bb/F/Gb/D tuning, allowing for maximum flexibility and alternative positions in all registers.

This model has a 9.5" one-piece gold brass bell, similar in concept to certain Bach bass trombones, and is paired with in-line rotors and a standard weight yellow brass handslide.

On this particular instrument, the lacquer has been intentionally removed from the bell section and most of the wrap, giving it a raw brass look with natural patina. It is not a shiny, pristine example, but it plays super open and resonant — often preferred by experienced players who value feel and sound over visual perfection.

The handslide is in excellent playing condition, with no defects to the inner slide plating and no signs of red rot. It moves freely and performs exactly as it should.

This bass trombone would have been an excellent choice for any advanced player or serious student looking for a high-level instrument in this price range.

Includes the original Yamaha case, fully functional.

For context, a new Yamaha bass trombone in the 600 series today (2025) sells in the $4,000–$5,000 range, making this model an excellent value when originally offered.
