Overview
This Vincent Bach New York Era 11 small-shank trombone mouthpiece was produced at the original New York factory prior to the company’s move to Mount Vernon in 1953. Mouthpieces from the New York period were made using traditional lathe-cut methods, a detail many players associate with the classic Bach feel and response of early Vincent Bach designs.
The Bach 11 is a versatile small-shank model. With a 24.70 mm rim diameter, it shares the same rim size as the Bach 11C but features a slightly deeper cup, producing a warmer, fuller core to the sound while maintaining the comfortable Bach rim profile.
This example featured a gold-plated rim and cup and was professionally cleaned and inspected at The Brass Exchange before sale. New York Era Bach mouthpieces in this level of condition are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Why Players Value New York Bach Mouthpieces
Early New York Bach mouthpieces were produced in smaller quantities before the move to Mount Vernon. Subtle differences in rim contour, cup depth, and finishing make them interesting to players comparing Bach eras and to collectors documenting early Bach production.
