This is a pre-owned Bass with rose brass detachable bell flare, independent Hagmann valves with heavy valve caps, standard weight handslide, removable press fit leadpipe. The bell flare on this Thein is 1/2" less than the standard American made 9.5" bell. In this design, size doesn't matter. It plays huge with the 9" light weight rose brass bell with nickel silver garland around rim. Has lots of center and core. Gorgeous dark sound that will brighten up easily when asked too. The Hagmann valve play like a dream. The action feels like butter. Standard weight single bore .562 handslide. Handslide action is fantastic, plays super easy. Has had full shop service, chemical bath, valve serviced, slide adjusted. Really no room to imrove mechanical function, playability, or appearance. Will not dissapoint. Would be an amazing all around bass for all styles, including orchestra, commercial, studio, jazz. Compact flat case is about the size of a viola case, and is shaped like one too.
