Overview
The S.E. Shires Trombone Balance Weight is a three-piece counterweight that mounts on the tuning-slide brace. It shifts the instrument’s balance back toward the player, helping reduce a front-heavy feel and making the trombone more comfortable to hold during extended playing.
These current-production weights feature clean stamped lettering rather than the floral-style engraving found on older versions.

Fit & Compatibility
Designed to fit S.E. Shires tenor trombone tuning slides, including large-bore (.547) and small-bore models.
Fit on other brands depends on the tuning-slide brace diameter. A slightly smaller brace may require a thin shim for a secure fit; a larger brace will not fit properly. If you are purchasing for another brand, please contact us before ordering to discuss compatibility.
