The S.E. Shires 2RVE bell section is a Boston-made Custom Series component, modeled after the legendary Conn 88H Elkhart design. Featuring an 8.5" rose brass flare with an unsoldered rim, it produces a warm, colorful sound with excellent resonance and projection, making it a favorite among orchestral and solo players alike.
This example was sold as a new stock component, flawless in condition and protected by the full factory warranty at the time of sale. As part of the Vintage Elkhart line, the 2RVE bell captures the tonal character of one of the most iconic trombone designs of the 20th century while benefiting from modern Shires precision and modular compatibility.
The Brass Exchange is proud to be an Authorized S.E. Shires Pro Shop, giving players access to Boston Custom Series bells and components. Unlike standard Shires dealers who can only supply the Q Series, Pro Shops work directly with the Custom Shop, ensuring musicians have the flexibility to build and refine professional setups.
This bell is now preserved here in our Archive of Sold Instruments & Components as a reference for musicians and collectors researching Shires modular options.
