Overview
This S.E. Shires Ralph Sauer detachable bell flare package has been sold. It paired the Custom Series Ralph Sauer rose brass bell with a compact Marcus Bonna travel case made specifically for S.E. Shires.
The package offered an excellent way for an existing Shires player to convert a standard setup into a compact detachable-bell instrument for travel, campus life, or everyday use. The lightweight backpack-style case is approximately the size of a viola case while providing excellent protection for the bell flare and compatible Shires components.
Ralph Sauer Bell Characteristics
The Ralph Sauer rose brass bell is known for its rich color, broad projection, and versatility across a wide range of tenor trombone playing. It works especially well with .547-inch slides such as the Shires TW47 and T47, as well as .525/.547 dual-bore and straight .525-inch configurations.
