"The development of the Q series allows for some of the best aspects of the Shires Custom instruments to be offered at a very affordable price," says Shires. This is achieved by leveraging the S.E. Shires Massachusetts factory for design, quality control inspection, and the manufacturing of critical parts. Meanwhile, Eastman Music Company’s Beijing workshop's skilled craftspeople handle the assembly, polishing, and other labor-intensive aspects of instrument construction.
