S.E. Shires BYB Bass Trombone Tuning Slide – B-Stock
This S.E. Shires BYB bass trombone tuning slide is a recent factory make and is officially categorized as B-stock by Shires. While it appears to be in perfect playing condition and has not been used at all, there is a minor imperfection in the lacquer — that’s it. This tuning slide is fully compatible with all Shires Custom Series bass trombone bell and valve sections, including both the Boston-made Custom Series and the entry-level Q Series bass trombones. The BYB tuning slide features the standard crook taper. It tapers more rapidly from the large diameter tube on the bell side to the smaller diameter on the valve side. This is different from the “C” taper, which is more gradual. The BYB taper is considered the standard option offered by Shires. B-stock classification is determined by the factory and allows for a slightly discounted price. The regular retail price for a new BYB slide is around $435, making this an excellent opportunity to save while still receiving uncompromised Shires quality.
