7.25 Yellow Brass

Reynolds Model 70 .500 Bore Late 1940's Make Cleveland, OH.  Has SN 13,XXX.  Bell is yellow brass 7.25", Yellow Brass .500 Bore Handslide.  This model was offered in several different sizes, 7", 7.25", and 7.5".  Option without without balance weight.  This one is without.  They also offered it in either .480 or .500 bore.  This one is a .500.  When you start looking at these vintage horns you quickly develop an appreciation for American Craftsmanship.  For example, the inner slide tubes are top quality.  The gauge of alloy seems heavier, the tubes on this horn are super clean and straight, no defects.  The bracing also feels substantial.  They are just made well, and made to last.  This one is most likely from around 1947.  The big band era was in full swing.  This is the type of horn guys were playing on back then if they weren't playing King, Conn, Bach, or Olds, to name a few.  Reynolds produced instruments in Ohio between 1935-1964, then moved on to Abilene TX as did Conn, finally to Fullerton CA, closing in 1979.   A wealth of info on Reynolds can be found on this website: https://contemporacorner.com/trombones/ Note to students/parents:  When you look at buying current make student level instruemts today for a much higher price, consider Pro level vintage.  You can always buy a new case if you don't like the vintage case look. This model 70 is in good condition.  Has one small dent on the hand bracing.  The slide is very good and without defect.  Includes original case and mouthpiece.  In-stock for immediate delivery.
