Overview
This is an original Reynolds Contempora Bass Trombone slide from the 1960s, in excellent vintage condition with all original parts and lacquer intact. The slide features brass outer tubes and a brass end crook, just as produced by Reynolds during the Contempora era.
The handslide is straight, well-aligned, and fully playable as-is, with no inner slide tube plating wear. It includes first-position springs similar to vintage Conn slides, and the overall slide width is comparable to classic Conn bass slides — comfortable in the hands and not overly wide like many modern bass trombone slides.
This slide is correct for vintage Reynolds Contempora bass trombone bell sections that have not been modified. It is a great option for restoring a Contempora bass to original playing condition or keeping a period-correct spare on hand.
