KING

The King 3BF Silversonic from 1965 is a standout among vintage American trombones, combining historic craftsmanship with superb tonal clarity. This model includes a factory F-attachment, adding extended lower range and versatility for both jazz and symphonic crossover work — a rare feature for Silversonics of this era.

This particular example was preserved in collector-grade condition. All parts were original, including the lacquer, slide crook, valve section, and sterling silver bell flare with gold-washed interior. It had never been damaged or repaired, making it one of the finest specimens we've encountered. The slide and rotor were quiet, fast, and highly responsive, delivering effortless projection and articulation.

The hallmark of the Silversonic series is its sterling silver bell, known for producing a brilliant yet warm tone with exceptional depth and presence. The 3BF variation retains all the bright, singing character that jazz trombonists love, while adding extra flexibility for studio or pit work.

This horn also included the original black and silver coffin-style King case, still in superb condition — a perfect match for the visual and functional integrity of the instrument.
