KING

King 2B Liberty SN 327721,  Made in 1952 Cleveland, OH, H.N. White Era.  This is the classic 2B model that Tommy Dorsey and all of the guys in his trombone section played.  Probably the most popular lead/big band trombone of all time.  Conn-Selmer still makes a copy of this instrument today and is called a Legend Series.  But a lot has changed with materials and fabrication procedures today.  The horns from this era were mostly handmade by old school craftsman.  You have to remember that the 1940's through the early 1950's was The Big Band Era, the popular music of the time.  Today, this model lives on and is an ideal choice for Jazz Band and commercial style musicians.  The 2B has a distinct sweet sound, characteristic of King trombones.

This 2B has had full shop service here.  All original parts.  We made a few repairs to the neck pipe and re-lacquered it.  The rest of the horn is all original lacquer.  Inner slide tubes are without plating defect.  This is an old trombone, and has been played on quite a lot by the original owner, but has been sitting idle for over the past 30-40 years.  Is ready to get back in to action now.  Original case in good condition.
