Kanstul Model 760 Medium Bore Trombone – Open Wrap, Bronze Bell (Sold)

This listing features a Kanstul Model 760 medium bore F-attachment trombone, now part of our Vintage Archive. Built in lacquered brass with Kanstul’s proprietary .025 gauge bronze York Formula Alloy, this horn featured a dual bore handslide (.500/.530), an 8" bell, and a smooth open wrap F-attachment.

The 760 was designed to offer the warmth and agility of a smaller bore horn while adding trigger functionality and extended lower range—making it an excellent option for advancing players or those looking for a compact and responsive horn for jazz, concert, or chamber work.

This instrument was in near-new condition when sold, with minimal playing time and no required service. It came with a Protec case and mouthpiece, making it fully ready to play.

The original MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) for this model was around $1,700, as listed in the final Kanstul dealer catalog before the company closed.

Kanstul Musical Instruments, based in Anaheim, California, was known for its high-quality handcrafted brass instruments until it ceased operations in 2020. Founded by Zig Kanstul, the company produced respected models across trumpet, trombone, and euphonium lines—including this well-regarded 760 F-attachment model.

Instruments like the 760 represent a now-limited supply of American-made Kanstul horns, offering players and collectors a final opportunity to experience the brand’s craftsmanship and tonal characteristics.

This instrument has been sold and is now part of our Vintage Archive.
