Overview

This pre-owned Jupiter JBR-560 marching baritone in yellow brass has been fully shop serviced here at The Brass Exchange and is playing beautifully. Service included a full chemical bath, new pads and felts, valve alignment and lapping, and complete play-testing.

The horn has excellent response and projection with no dents or structural issues. There is noticeable lacquer wear from normal use, but it presents well and plays at a very high level. It takes a small-shank trombone mouthpiece (not included) and comes with a Protect marching baritone case in excellent condition.

This exact instrument was previously owned by a multi-year DCI competitor and used as a practice and audition horn — a smart choice for any serious marching candidate. We’ve also seen jazz players enjoy horns like this for their forward bell design and warm, compact projection.

For reference, a new Jupiter marching baritone in 2026 sells in the $2,300–$2,500 range, making this serviced example a strong value.

Player Perspective

The JBR-560 offers a comfortable marching balance with a clear, centered sound and easy response. It slots well across the range and projects cleanly outdoors while still blending nicely indoors.

If you’re preparing for DCI auditions, college marching band, or want a reliable practice horn that feels like your field instrument, this one will not disappoint.
