Overview
This Greenhoe GC2-Y Custom Small Bore Tenor Trombone is factory new and currently temporarily out of stock, with additional instruments already on order. Contact us to reserve the next incoming GC2-Y, or tell the factory you would like one coordinated through The Brass Exchange and weโll handle the details. ๐
The GC2-Y is a refined modern interpretation of the classic American small-bore jazz tenor and includes:
.500" straight bore
8" yellow brass bell (medium-lightweight)
Nickel silver handslide with yellow brass end crook
Ribbed ferrules and engraving
Two removable leadpipes
For this build we specified a slightly heavier bell-brace configuration, adding a touch more structural mass for improved balance and a fuller tonal core while preserving the quick response expected from a true small-bore lead instrument.
Player Perspective
The first impression is how naturally the horn responds. Pitch centers sit exactly where you expect them, and articulation feels immediate without being brittle. Players who enjoy working above high D will be pleasantly surprised by how accessible and stable the upper register feels on this GC2-Y.
Compared with many vintage small bores, the GC2-Y feels agile and efficient in the hands, yet the added brace weight gives it just enough substance to avoid feeling thin. The slide action is fluid, balanced, and fast without being fragile. It invites you to play.
This is a serious professional instrument suited to jazz, commercial, lead, chamber, and refined small-ensemble work.
Case & Included Accessories
Each GC2-Y includes the Greenhoe Guard modular case with:
Backpack straps
Removable outer slide compartment
Airline-friendly modular design
Greenhoe branding
Also included: two leadpipes, care kit, and mouthpiece.
