The Conn 6H became a legendary model among jazz trombonists starting in the 1950s and continued its legacy into the 1970s. Built during Conn’s highly regarded Elkhart era, this horn exemplifies the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and consistency. With its responsive slide and resonant bell, the 6H delivers warmth, color, and clarity in all registers—making it a go-to model for countless players in big bands, small combos, and commercial settings.
This is the same model famously played by Frank Rosolino, known for his virtuosic bebop playing and expressive phrasing. Today, the Conn 6H remains one of the most respected .500 bore jazz trombones ever made.
