CONN

Conn 6H Victor Trombone, made in the 1970s, carries forward the exact same specifications and design features as the highly regarded Elkhart-era models from the 1960s. It features an 8" yellow brass bell with an unsoldered rim and a standard .500 bore handslide—classic traits that made this one of Conn’s most iconic jazz and commercial trombones. The 6H remains a favorite among serious players due to its centered sound, clean articulation, and open feel across all registers.

This particular horn is in very good condition and plays proper without the need for additional service. We performed a full evaluation in the shop and confirmed that everything functions as it should. The slide is straight and smooth, with no plating loss on the inner tubes. Lacquer wear is present on the outer slide, though it appears more like a minor original factory inconsistency than evidence of wear or restoration. Bell and tuning slide are very clean, and there are no signs of major damage or past trauma.

One benefit of this era is that the parts remain fully compatible with earlier Elkhart-built 6H models, as well as other similar Conn trombones like the 48H and 10H. That means players or collectors who already own compatible parts can easily mix and match bell sections or slides as needed.

Includes original Conn case. Mouthpiece not included.

What makes the Conn 6H such a popular jazz trombone?
The 6H has been praised for decades for its flexible sound and ease of play, making it ideal for everything from big band and studio work to solo jazz playing. Its .500 bore strikes a perfect balance between resistance and projection, allowing players to shape their tone without overblowing.
