CONN

Conn 6H Trombone, Serial Number H92576, made in 1966 during the golden era of Conn production in Elkhart, Indiana. This is one of the most iconic jazz trombones ever produced and a favorite of legendary soloist Frank Rosolino, who played a 6H for most of his career.

This particular example is exceptionally well-preserved. Many Conn 6H horns from the mid-60s have seen heavy playing and rough handling over the years, but not this one. It features all original parts and lacquer, with no history of major repairs. The bell is totally straight, and the slide is excellent, with smooth action and no plating loss.

Specs include an 8" yellow brass bell with unsoldered rim/bead, .500 bore gold brass standard weight handslide with nickel silver oversleeves and endcrook, and a yellow brass tuning slide. We've completed full shop service including a chemical bath, and the horn plays 100% properβ€”responsive, centered, and rich in tone.

Perfect for jazz, lead, combo, commercial, or studio use, this 6H offers the authentic feel and sound that has stood the test of time.

Q: What makes the Conn 6H such a legendary jazz trombone?
A: The Conn 6H blends a lightweight feel with superior response, making it ideal for expressive phrasing and agility in jazz settings. With its .500 bore and 8" bell, it offers projection without sounding too bright or brassy, and is loved for its centered tone and fast slide.

This 1966 Conn 6H has been sold and is now displayed here as a historical reference for collectors and jazz trombone fans.
