CONN

This is a Conn 110H single rotor bass trombone, featuring a silver-plated 10" rose brass bell and a .562 straight bore handslide. Designed as the bass extension of the classic 88H, the 110H delivers a warm, broad tone and plays with the same free-blowing, responsive feel — just in a lower register.

This example is a bit older, estimated between 10–20 years old, but is structurally identical to the current production model, which retails new for over $3,400. While exact manufacturing dates are difficult to determine for modern Conn instruments, this one matches current specs: open wrap F-attachment, silver plate over brass (not nickel silver), and a lightweight straight bore slide that plays smooth and open.

We performed a full shop service, including:

  • Chemical bath

  • Rotor and linkage service

  • Handslide alignment and setup

  • Silver polish

It is now in excellent playing condition. While there are a few cosmetic blemishes and spots of plating loss, the horn shows no signs of major trauma such as bell creases or significant dent work. It is structurally sound, fully functional, and plays clean and easy.

This 110H is an excellent choice for:

  • Tenor players transitioning to bass

  • Students learning F-attachment techniques

  • Players needing a pro-level horn without the new price tag

What’s the difference between the Conn 110H and a double valve bass trombone?
The Conn 110H features a single F-attachment in an open wrap design, which provides smoother airflow and reduced resistance. It’s lighter and more responsive than many double valve models, making it ideal for players who don’t need a second valve or are just getting started on bass. While it lacks a second trigger for low D or Db, many players find it perfect for band, jazz, and even some orchestral applications.
