B&S

B&S Meistersinger Bass Trombone Model MS27K. Slightly used. This was the prototype model that B&S based all later MS27 models on. It was brought to us by the actual designer who worked with B&S while living in Germany.

This is a fully German-made instrument, crafted from premium German alloy with exceptional craftsmanship throughout. Features include a 9.75" rose brass bell with nickel silver outer bell garland, independent rotors (Bb/F/Gb/D), lightweight nickel silver handslide with gold brass end crook, and a factory-installed adjustable thumb brace.

Also included are three removable leadpipes, extra D tuning slide, and a BAM bass trombone case. This horn has a superior ergonomic feelโ€”well-balanced and not overly heavy. It plays with a dark, round sound ideally suited for orchestral playing. No service needs to improve appearance or playability; this one is in perfect condition.

This model is offered in Europe by select dealers in the $6,000+ range, but availability remains limited in the U.S. Priced to sell when available, this one was quickly claimed.

How does the MS27K compare to other bass trombones?
Built with true German craftsmanship and tonal focus, the MS27K offers an alternative to U.S.-made instruments like the Bach 50 or Edwards B502. Its slightly broader bell and independent rotor layout produce a dark, full-bodied sound favored in European orchestras. For players and collectors exploring beyond the standard brands, this horn stands out as a compelling option.
