Benge 290 Independent Bass Trombone β Bb/F/Gb/D configuration with original American craftsmanship. This example features a 9.75" yellow brass bell and traditional Benge styling throughout. All original parts and lacquer are intact, with no previous damage or structural repairs. The instrument received full shop service here, including a chemical bath and full inspection.
This particular horn shows very little playing wear and appears to have been used sparingly over its lifetime. The slide and rotary valves are in excellent condition, moving freely and responding with ease. The dual independent rotor setup allows for flexible alternate positions and full low register access down to pedal D. Itβs a smooth-playing, reliable instrument with the feel and tonal character that helped define American bass trombone manufacturing in the late 20th century.
Ideal for the advancing student stepping up to a trigger bass trombone, this model would also serve well in a school ensemble setting or as a solid secondary horn for a working professional. Itβs also one of the few all-American made options available in this price range, and represents great value compared to imported models.
Includes the original Benge case in excellent condition β super clean and fully functional.
This Benge 290 has been sold and is now shown here as a historical reference for musicians and collectors.
