This Bach Corporation Era 11C small shank trombone mouthpiece was manufactured in Elkhart between approximately 1963 and the late 1970s. Mouthpieces from this period were produced using traditional hand-lathe methods and manufacturing processes that differ significantly from today’s CNC-based mass production. Many players continue to prefer these earlier examples for their feel, response, and consistency.

This mouthpiece is offered in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of use. The silver plating is fully intact with no plating loss, and the shank is perfectly round and true, ensuring a proper fit and reliable response. It has been professionally cleaned and polished and is fully player ready.

The 11C has long been considered a classic jazz player’s mouthpiece, known for its efficient response, clarity, and ability to project with a focused, lively sound. Its shallower C-style cup produces a brighter, more immediate articulation compared to deeper cup designs, making it especially well suited for small bore jazz, commercial, and lead-oriented playing.
